On January 25, 2006 the Corps of Engineers held a Public Meeting at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. The meeting presentation included the results of the Corps of Engineers investigation and recommendations for site clean up.

On January 30th and 31st, a Technical Project Planning meeting was held in Alexandria to inform the Grand Rapides community of the Former Camp Claiborne Engineering Evaluation and Cost Analysis (EE/CA) project, which was discussed in great detail. The meeting was designed to inform land owners and community members of the project objectives and help the US Army Engineering & Support Center gain an understanding of the community's concerns involving the project. U.S. Forest Service representatives and many community members were in attendance. Key Discussion Points included preservation of Native American historical resources, ordnance safety, and recreational use of the camp.

This is the first of many steps in promoting public communication and interaction as it relates to understanding and focusing the objects of the Former Camp Claiborne Project.

On July 25th, 2nd Technical Project Planning meeting was held at the Travel Lodge Conference Center, from 8:30-4:30.
